Lesson 3

Trinity

Concept:

The idea of the Trinity is a key concept for Christianity. We know that our God is one God. We do not have three different Gods—that would be idol worship. However, we do have one God who has chosen to manifest Himself three different ways. A natural example of this concept is rain, steam and ice. All three are water but in different forms. In a greater way, we have the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three God but able to manifest in three unique forms. As we study the Trinity, we will discover how three can be one and all three have the same nature, will, and purpose.

Summary:

As we have read these scriptures we can see three moving as one. God always plans, Jesus always carries out the plan, and the Holy Spirit always reveals what has taken place. An example of this is when God came as a man, the man Jesus Christ (I Timothy 2:5). Jesus lived a sinless life by the Power of the Spirit. Jesus was crucified according to God’s plan and shed God’s own blood. His blood was offered through the Eternal Spirit to God, so God could pronounce all of us not guilty. He gave Himself as a sacrifice to satisfy His judgement and show His mercy. The Spirit of God is making this a reality to all those who will allow that revelation to explode in their heart. We then can serve the Lord with our conscience free of dead works and can set our hearts at rest in the presence of a Living God.

Action:

Read the first 18 scriptures, then write down some observations that the Holy Spirit made alive to you.
