“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
2 Corinthians 3:17
WHAT is it?
This dynamic weekend takes you to a Christian conference center for a fresh encounter with God! With members of your own D12 group, time is set aside to help resolve past and present concerns involving character, family and vocation. More than just a time of resolution, it’s a time to better prepare for what God has in store. The testimonies of changed lives are as numerous as the people who go. Come and you’ll see why it is called an “encounter.”
WHO’s it for?
Any person who belongs to a D12 Group. It’s designed for you, your D12 Group Leader and members of your own D12 group.
WHAT it’s not?
An Encounter is not a weekend where we stand up and tell everybody how rotten we are! Nor is it some mystical experience with “the weird and spooky.” Sure, you will have time for reflection and personal inventory, but your prayer times are with members of your own D12 group. There are no “forced” confessions, no “psycho-babble” and no “camp songs.” Just Christians getting together to forge deeper friendships as they pursue a fresh “encounter” with Christ.
WHERE does it take place and how long is it?
The Encounter takes place away from the church at a beautiful secluded Christian conference center in the mountains by Lake Hughes from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. Your coach helps lead you through discussions after each of the lessons. Your group remains together throughout the encounter. All meals are provided.
What are the ABC’s of an Encounter?
Each session of praise and worship is coupled with an interactive teaching followed by a time of prayer with your D12 group. In the privacy of your own group, you will have time to discuss the application of key life principles as well as pray for specific needs that concern you.
