2007 Short Term
Missions Trips
Action

Ongoing Community Care Projects
Contact: Doug Cobly ext. 17
ACTION is a growing network of local churches and ministries
committed to partnering together in serving our local community
in tangible ways.
Every two months, SCF mobilizes our congregation into multiple
work forces to serve our community. Projects have included
working at group homes for abused children, working at a
women’s shelter, cleaning and repairing homes with elderly
or disabled residents, working at a local Bible college,
and many other worthy projects.
Since these work days usually take place on Saturday
mornings / afternoons, they are a great way for D12 groups,
families, and individuals to get involved in serving our
community.

first-hand how your profession can be used to influence people
for Christ.

some awesome and unforgettable relationships. We will be in
Belize seven nights and eight days with three great meals a day.

Cost: $1200
Deposit: $650 by April 4
Contact: Kendra & Jerry Reichardt ext. 29
Age: 13 and older
Emmanuel is a Christian-based orphanage founded by David & Lydia
Martinez who were originally from Oxnard. They were given a vision
by God in the late 1980’s to sell everything they owned and follow
His calling to provide shelter to the kids of Honduras who were
abandoned, abused or unwanted.
Emmanuel is a spacious community where all 420 children are
taught the love of God from the day they arrive.
Our job is to come alongside David, Lydia and the staff at Emmanuel
to help in specific projects. Come and use your God-given talents
to bless Emmanuel! We want to bless the kids by loving them and
showing them the unfailing love of the Lord. Emmanuel is located
on 100 acres and is a light in the little village of Guiamaca.
This is a life-changing mission trip!
First information meeting is Sunday, February 4, 2007
at 12:30 in Room 26
PORTUGAL

July 18-28, 2007
Cost: $1400 (approx.)
Deposit: $400 by April 22
Contact: Doug Colby ext. 20
Ages: High School and older
(especially college-age/young adults)
We will be serving alongside our long-term missionary family, the
Uhlers, in hosting a large-scale project called “Serve the City.”
Our goals include: (1) blessing the Uhlers, (2) partnering with
their ongoing ministry in Portugal, and (3) assisting their team
in hosting this massive city-wide project. For more information
about “Serve the City,” go to servethecity.be.
All ages are encouraged to participate, but we especially need
young adults to help in this endeavor, since the Uhler’s primary
ministry focus is inner-city ministry to young adults. The Uhlers
have been ministering in Portugal for many years, and we are
excited about the opportunity to partner with them on their home turf.
