The Psalms are great to read because they speak right to where you and I live. The pressures we experience and the emotions we feel are expressed openly by the writers of the Psalms.  Psalms 11 starts out saying I put my trust in the Lord and I take refuge in Him. That seems like a simple statement but how many of us have to remember every day to take refuge  in the Lord and remind ourselves that we are not trusting in ourselves or circumstances but we are trusting in the Lord. When I read of all that is happening in the world and what their predictions are, I have to remind my self that fear is not what I am to dwell on since I have not been given a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. When I start to sense that I am not abiding in peace, I have to get my mind back to thinking on the Lord and His faithfulness and then I will have perfect peace. When it looks like circumstances are going to explode around me, I have to preach to myself that I am going to be led into victory and that the Lord’s right hand is going to save me. I have experienced the Lord’s faithfulness many times in my life but it seems like I forget when new situations come up. So let’s continue to preach to ourselves that we put our trust in the Lord. The Lord will be faithful and His eyes are on those who put their trust in Him and He desire to save His own.

(Psa 11:1 NKJV)  In the LORD I put my trust; How can you say to my soul, "Flee as a bird to your mountain"?
