THE GREAT RESTORER
As David continues Psalms 23 he states a very powerful concept. David says the Lord restores my soul. The soul is made up of the mind, will, and the emotions and the Lord wants to restore all three areas. The word restore in the Hebrew means to build, to turn back, to carry again, to deliver, and to bring back home. What area of your soul needs any of these? Does your mind need to be delivered from thinking patterns that are destructive. 2 Timothy 1:7 says you have a sound mind. You have a mind that can think thoughts that are healthy, productive, and creative. I Corinthians 2:16 states that you have the mind of Christ, so begin to meditate on the potential that opens up to you because of this truth. How about your emotions? Is there anything in the past that still causes pain today? The Lord is a God of Peace and He desires to rebuild your emotional well being. Hebrews 9:9 says He can clear our conscience so the pain is not longer devastating. Since He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, He is able to reach back in the yesterday and heal those words, actions, traumas, visions, and broken covenants that have been causing pain for years. He can heal today. I know there are a number of people reading this that need to ask the Lord to heal their yesterday and I am confident that He will do it and release you into a joy that you have never experienced. What about your will? Are you willing to do what the Lord is asking you to do? The Lord will work on your will to be willing to do of His good pleasure. Doing the will of God is the healthiest thing that you could do because He is a Father who loves you with an unconditional love. He is a shepherd that knows how to restore and build you into a healthy sheep. Allow Him to restore you today.
(Psa 23:3 NIV) he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
